F1 2021 Gets Visual and Performance Boost With Ray Tracing and Nvidia DLSS

The latest entry in Codemasters’ racing franchise F1 2021 is getting a boost to its visuals and performance with ray tracing and DLSS. Nvidia claims that DLSS will improve performance up to 65% on supported cards, and provided a handy benchmark chart showing performance across the majority of its RTX graphics cards.

Although the benchmark chart shows an impressive performance boost across the board, we suggest taking with a grain of salt until third party tests are out. Nvidia claims that every Geforce RTX GPU can run the game over 60fps at 1440p with ray tracing turned on, with the higher end RTX 3070 and above capable of the same frame rate at 4K. Of course, these numbers are sourced with all of the game’s settings maxed out, so the possibility of running the game at a high frame rate in 1440p or above for lower end RTX cards is still valid.

Along with the benchmark numbers, which we also got a new trailer to show off the game’s performance with and without DLSS at 4K.

F1 2021 is out now on PC (Steam), PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S consoles. IGN reviewed the game on Xbox Series X and gave it a strong recommendation in its review.
