TeamGroup Reveal DDR5 Elite Series 16GB 4800MHz Memory Modules

TeamGroup was one of the first memory manufacturers to tease their latest next-gen DDR5 memory modules to consumers. Now, at Computex 2021, it’s also one of the first to showcase the finished product – unveiling their latest DDR5/ DDR4 memory kits. Alongside a hugely impressive selection of memory announcements, TeamGroup will also be showcasing new high-capacity SSD solutions as well.

As exciting as this sounds, there are no official release dates yet – but if the rest of the market is anything to go by, we should expect the new memory modules at the end of 2021.

TeamGroup Announce 16GB DDR5 4800MHz Memory Kit, 256GB  DDR4 3600MHz Memory Kit, And High Capacity SSD Storage

Starting with the most anticipated product, TeamGroup recently announced its first DDR5 DRAM product – coming in the shape of a 16GB memory module that would operate at 4800MHz. The new module would become a part of the top-selling ELITE memory product line and would showcase improved architecture that would offer double the performance of DDR4 alternatives.

TeamGroup is already showcasing the memory via a product page on their site, showcasing many of the core features and specifications. TeamGroup plans to release a 16GB 4800MHz module that operates at 1.1V – an improvement over the 1.2V DDR4 predecessor. Data transfer rates of 4800-5200 Mbps can be expected, translating to a 1.6 times increase in performance – all while reducing power consumption by 10%.

T-Force, TeamGroup’s gaming enterprise, has already confirmed that they’re hard at work on developing next-gen DDR5 memory modules with overclocking support. Furthermore, T-Force state that they have already shipped the first memory samples to major motherboard partners to ensure compatibility – including; Gigabyte, MSI, ASRock, & ASUS.

With this in mind, T-Force has also stated that DDR5 memory has a far greater overclocking potential thanks to the room allocated for voltage adjustments. They say this is mainly thanks to the upgraded power management IC’s (PMIC) that allow for voltages over 2.6V. And whilst DDR4 modules handled their voltage conversion via the motherboard, the same can’t be said for DDR5. In comparison, the components required for voltage conversion will now be hosted on the DIMM itself – not only reducing voltage wear but also decreasing noise and offering increased overclocking potential.

TeamGroup XTREEM ARGB DDR4 8 Memory Module Kit

Alongside the impressive DDR5 modules, TeamGroup also plans to release an XTREEM ARGB DDR4 8 Memory Kit as well – a high-capacity RAM kit designed for Intel and AMD HEDT platforms. The entire kit will comprise of eight memory modules that will feature the XTREEM ARGB design and a 32GB 3600MHz capacity. All in all, the kit equates to 256GB of RAM – great for users that run intensive workstation-type scenarios who need greater memory capacities.

Timings of the modules will operate at CL18-22-22-42 and modules will also be equipped with a nicely designed ARGB heat spreader too.

TeamGroup MP34 8TB M.2 PCIe SSD

Finally, TeamGroup also announced its brand new MP34 M.2 PCIe storage solution – equipped with capacities of up to 8TB, respectively. The new SSDs are based on 3D QLC flash memory chips and will be PCIe Gen 3.0 X4 compliant.

Alongside this, users can expect a 5-year warranty, max read and write speeds of 3500/2900Mbps, and read/write IOPs of 450K/400K, respectively.
